FAIRBANKS, AK (Oct. 25) -
Alyssa Given hit back-to-back service aces to clinch the third and decisive game as Seattle Pacific University swept University of Alaska Fairbanks in a Great Norwest Athletic Conference volleyball match Thusday night in Fairbanks.
The Falcons (7-6, 12-9) kept their winning streak alive over the Nanooks (3-11, 9-13), winning in three straight game by scores of 30-20, 30-21, and 30-22.
Given needed three aces going into the night to eclipse Erika Brunson's GNAC record for career service aces which stood at 182. SPU held UAF to just a .034 hitting percentage for the night. The Nanooks led by six points during the third game but SPU rallied to tie the score at 19 and never looked back.
