SEATTLE -- A power outage late in Game 1 on Thursday night forced the eventual postponement of the Seattle Pacific-Central Washington volleyball match in Brougham Pavilion.

The Great Northwest Athletic Conference match is scheduled to resume from the point of interruption on Monday night at 7 in Brougham, with the same lineups on the floor and the score tied at 24-24.

Seattle Pacific (15-9, 9-3 GNAC) had just called a timeout after Central (13-10, 5-7 GNAC) climbed out of a 24-22 hole to get back into a tie at 24. Just moments later, the lights in the pavilion went out, came back on, then immediately went out again and stayed out at approximately 7:30 p.m. A report from Seattle City Light said a transformer was the cause of the outage.

At that time, it was believed that power would be out for two to three hours, leading to the decision to postpone. City Light crews were able to get it on again by 8:40, but both teams had left the pavilion by then.

The Falcons, still in the hunt for the conference championship, will return to their home court on Saturday afternoon at 4 against Saint Martin’s. It will be Senior Day in Brougham Pavilion.

The volleyball match is part of an SPU athletics tripleheader on that day. The women’s soccer team will play host to Northwest Nazarene at 1 p.m. at Interbay Stadium, followed by the volleyball match at 4 in Brougham. The men’s soccer team then hosts Northwest Nazarene at 7 p.m. at Interbay.

The two soccer games also will be Senior Days.
