SEATTLE – Suzie Strickler, who came back from a major foot injury to help the Seattle Pacific women earn the fourth-place trophy at the Division II cross country championships last month, will be featured as part of the NCAA fall sports highlights show on CBS.
The show will air this Saturday, Dec. 26, at 10:30 a.m. on KIRO Channel 7.
Strickler was on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic in the summer of 2008 when her left foot got caught in the wheel of a motorbike.
After missing her entire senior year of cross country and track while she recovered from the injury, Strickler decided to come back for one final cross country season this fall. She gradually worked her way into the Falcons’ top-five scoring pack, and finished second for the team (46th overall) at nationals in Evansville, Ind., on Nov. 21.
