SEATTLE -- Three Seattle Pacific men’s soccer players were honored, including a pair of second-team selections, when the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Far West Region squad was announced Tuesday.
SPU sophomores Elliot Morton and Tyler Schultz were both named to the second team and senior Alec Nelson was a third-team choice.
Morton (Tacoma, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) anchored a defense that shut out six opponents and surrendered just 22 goals. He netted three goals, including two game winners.
A midfielder, Schultz (Scottsdale, Ariz.) led the Falcons with eight goals and three game-winning strikes.
Nelson (Lynnwood, Wash./Meadowdale HS) registered six goals and three assists from his midfield position. He completed his collegiate career with 16 goals and 11 assists.
All three Falcons were previously honored as unanimous first-team All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference selections.
The SPU men did not receive a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament despite an 11-5-3 mark that was a five-win improvement from the previous season’s record (6-10-3). They posted a 4-3-1 mark to place third in the GNAC standings.
