Throughout the summer, the Seattle Pacific sports information team will pose a question to various Falcon athletes.
What is your favorite sports memory from summers past – camp, competition, etc. – and why is that your favorite memory?
Jocelyn Charette
Women's soccer
My favorite memory is playing soccer tennis with my younger brother and three other guys whom we met at the tennis courts. This is my favorite because I got to play with my brother and have a fun time playing against crafty soccer tennis players.
Justin Felt
Men's track and field
Training for high school football and going to football camps. Football is by far my favorite sport, and I miss it a lot.
Chad Meis
Men's cross country/track
My favorite sports memory is counseling at Falcon Running Camp. It's pretty much just a week of running, eating, and hanging out with teammates and high school cross country runners at Camp Casey. It's really fun to spend a week just running, and it's also very rewarding to be able to coach and mentor younger runners who are excited about cross country. I'm super excited to do it again.
Joelle Perez
Volleyball
Going to a Fellowship of Christian Athletes camp. It was amazing to be able to work out and play volleyball while learning more about God and how important it is go give all the glory to Him.
Laura Willis
Gymnastics
One of my favorite sports memories was the summer between my sophomore and junior year of high school. I was coming off a back injury and desperately wanted to be ready to compete in the upcoming season. This was not an easy task because the injury put me far behind. I worked extremely hard to get in shape and get back to the level of gymnastics I had been at previously. I think this was one of the most exhausting summers, but the end result made it all worth it.
Andy Wolverton
Men's soccer
Last summer, a handful of players from the Portland area (where I'm from) came together to form a club team to compete in the Youth Soccer Regional Tournament. Not only did we get to play against other top players, but the tournament was in Hawaii. We lost in the semifinal, but still enjoyed the trip.
