SEATTLE -- The first 100 fans through the door at each of Saturday afternoon's basketball games against Northwest Nazarene will receive a free SPU beanie, courtesy of the Falcons and the Boeing Employees Credit Union (BECU).
The SPU basketball teams host a doubleheader on Saturday (Feb. 6) at Brougham Pavilion. The women's game tips off at 2 p.m. followed by the men's game at approximately at 4 p.m.
Get there early to get one of the knit maroon caps with the "SPU" logo. There will be 100 beanies distributed before the women's game and 100 more prior to the men's game.
Saturday is also the start of the "Konverting Kicks" promotion to support Haiti recovery.
SPU's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is partnering with other Great Northwest Athletic Conference institutions for the Konverting Kicks project. The program's goal is to collect gently-used shoes that will be sent to Haiti and distributed to those in need.
If you would like to contribute, please bring your gently-used shoes to Brougham Pavilion and place them in the marked bins at any of the Falcons basketball games prior to February 19th.
