KIRKLAND, Wash. -- Seattle Pacific men's basketball coach Ryan Looney will be taking part in the third annual Northwest University Spring Coaches Clinic on Saturday, April 24 at the school's Kirkland campus.

Looney just completed his first year as the Falcon's head coach and earned Coach of the Year honors for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. He directed SPU to a 22-6 record, the league title and an NCAA Division II tournament berth.

The clinic is aimed at helping high school, junior high, middle school and youth coaches gain more knowledge of the game.

Coach Looney's presentation is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. in the NU Pavilion.

Saturday's clinic opens in the Pavilion at 9 a.m. with on-court demonstrations by the coaches and then finishes up in the HSC after a lunch in the NU dining hall, The Caf.

Other coaches and speakers taking part in the clinic are: John Van Dyke (Head Men's Coach, Northwest University), Bruce Brown (Proactive Coaching), Maco Hamilton (Head Boy's Basketball Coach, Union High School) and Francis Williams (Fox Sports Northwest).

The cost for the clinic is $75 per coach and $40 for assistant coaches accompanying their head coach. Registration and more information is available on the Northwest University Athletics web page at: www.northwestu.edu/athletics or by calling (425) 889-7806.
