The men's and women's rowing teams celebrate 40 years of crew at Seattle Pacific with a Homecoming celebration on Saturday, Jan. 28. The festivities begin at 9 a.m. with races between the alumni and novice competitors.
After the completion of racing a 9:30 a.m. brunch will be served and a program will be held in Lower Brougham Pavilion with a number of former SPU crew coaches scheduled to attend. The list of speakers includes Anna Mickelson Cummins,
a U.S. Olympic gold medalist and World Champion who is the niece of former Falcons men's rowing coach Bill Mickelson.
The Homecoming celebration is the first event of the 2012 racing season for the current Falcons rowers. Their first collegiate competition is on March 17 at the Pacific Lutheran Dual regatta on American Lake in Lakewood, Wash.
