SEATTLE -- The Seattle Pacific men's soccer team participated in each of the last two NCAA Division II Tournaments. The Falcons begin preparations for another playoff pursuit in 2013 with a strenuous six-game spring schedule.
SPU hosts three of the games on home turf at at
Interbay Stadium. There is no admission charged for any men's home games during the spring.
The spring exhibition season begins at on the road, Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m. against Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C.
The first home game is April 13 at noon against Concordia University from Oregon. That is followed by an April 20 visit to Portland, Ore. to take on the powerful Pilots at 2 p.m.
The Kitsap Pumas invade Interbay on April 29 at 7:30 p.m. Kitsap is a member of the United Soccer Leagues' Premier Development League (PDL), the third USL tier.
SPU makes the crosstown trek to the University of Washington on May 3 for a 7 p.m. encounter at Husky Soccer Field.
The Falcons conclude the spring session at Interbay Stadium with their annual Alumni Game on May 11 at 7 p.m.
The spring schedule prepares the Falcons for the upcoming fall campaign. They will use the training time to determine who will fill voids left by the departure of seven senior starters.
Coach
Mark Collings directed the SPU men to an 11-3-5 record in 2012. They won their first six games, climbing to No. 2 in the national rankings.
The Falcons earned a playoff berth and tied Cal State L.A. 1-1 before falling in the penalty-kick tiebreaker.
