SEATTLE – They didn't get a lot of shots on Saturday night. But the Seattle Pacific Falcons made the most of their opportunities.

Suzanna Ohlsen, Aubree Callen, and Maddey Pflaumer combined for 47 points on 61 percent shooting from the field as 12th-ranked SPU fended off a much-improved Central Washington team in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's basketball game in Brougham Pavilion, 67-52.

Senior point guard Ohlsen (Monroe, Wash. / Monroe HS) led the way with 17 points, hitting 7 of 12 from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range. Redshirt senior guard Callen (Jerome, Idaho) added 16 points and hit 7 of 11, with 2 of 3 from downtown. Senior center Maddey Pflaumer (Issaquah, Wash. / Issaquah HS) scored 14 on 5-of-8 shooting.

Seattle Pacific (14-1, 6-1 GNAC) shot 54 percent at a team (27 of 50), and 50 percent from 3-point range (7 of 14) in winning its eighth straight game. Only 18 of those shots came after halftime, but 13 of those went in for a phenomenal 72.2 percent clip through the final 20 minutes.

The only time this season when the Falcons managed fewer shots than Saturday was 47 in a 61-56 victory at Simon Fraser on Jan. 3.

"The shots we took, our kids were working together," head coach Julie Heisey said. "After the first timeout, we tried to run more motion, tried to make (the Wildcats) play defense and let the offense come to us. We started taking better shots and tried to emphasize ball reversal."

At 14-1 overall, the last Seattle Pacific team to do this well through 15 games was Heisey's 2007-08 squad that won its first 29 before falling in the NCAA West Regional championship game.

"We've found ways to win," Heisey said. "Maddey was great again, Sue did a lot of good things, and every sub did what they needed to do. It was a total team win. Our four seniors have been such amazing leaders. Three of them had double figures tonight, and all four of them had assists. That says a lot that we play together."

Seattle Pacific concludes the first half of its GNAC schedule next week, visiting Western Oregon in Monmouth on Thursday and Saint Martin's in Lacey on Saturday. Both games tip off at 7:00 p.m.

The SPU reserves contributed 11 points and 13 rebounds in a combined 62 minutes on Saturday. Sophomore guard Stacey Lukasiewicz (Centennial, Colo.) had eight of those points. Freshman guard Courtney Hollander (Lynden, Wash. / Lynden Christian HS) had a team-high seven of the Falcons' 35 rebounds.

"As a player that comes off the bench, you just have to be ready for anything," Lukasiewicz said. "I'm a defensive player first, for sure. Usually, my defense just kind of drives my offense. I was able to be aggressive on defense, and so offensively, that just carried over."

Central Washington (9-7, 4-4 GNAC), which now already has won more games overall and in conference than it did all of last year, was topped  by Jasmine Parker's 16 points and nine rebounds. Last season, the Wildcats were 7-19, 2-16 GNAC.

The Falcons, up just 32-27 at halftime, saw Central gets as close as three at 34-31 early in the second half. But they gradually edged farther in front, expanding the lead to 11 at 50-38 on a 3-pointer by Ohlsen with 10:26 left, and kept it in double digits the rest of the way.
