Box score, play-by-play (HTML) SEATTLE – Lauren Hackett had 13 kills and hit .417 for the match, and California Baptist was in control from start to finish in sweeping Alaska Fairbanks at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference-Pacific West Crossover Volleyball Tournament on Thursday afternoon.
Scores in Brougham Pavilion were 25-22, 25-12, 25-14.
Hackett, a sophomore outside hitter from nearby Kentwood High School southeast of Seattle, was the only player in double-figure kills for the Lancers (4-1). Jenna Perry added eight kills and hit .429.
Abbie Gortsema, who stands 6-foot-4, had a hand in seven blocks, including two solos. Tori Ortman led with 10 digs, and Jordyn Siko earned 29 assists.
Sam Harthun put down eight kills for Alaska Fairbanks (0-4). Meagan Olsen came up with 11 digs. Jennifer Morris and Miranda Grieser each recorded 10 assists.
Cal Baptist hit a strong .325 for the match with 38 kills and just 12 errors on 80 attacks. Fairbanks wound up negative for the match at -.032 (23 kills-26 errors-93 attacks).
