SEATTLE – Lauren Hackett and Jenna Perry each put down 13 kills on Saturday afternoon as California Baptist swept past Montana State Billings to complete an undefeated run through the Great Northwest Athletic Conference-Pacific West Crossover Volleyball Tournament.
Scores in Seattle Pacific's Royal Brougham Pavilion were 25-18, 25-19, 25-21.
The Lancers (7-1) won all four of their tournament matches in three-game sweeps.
Junior outside hitter Perry hit .417 for the day (13 kills-3 errors-24 attacks).
Lauren Marr added eight kills and had one of Cal Baptist's three solo blocks. Jordyn Siko had 36 assists for Cal Baptist, and Kristin McCord led the way with eight digs.
Montana State Billings (1-7, 0-4 in the tournament) were led by the 11 kills and .444 hitting of freshman middle blocker Taylor Albertson. She also had four block assists. Kyndal Williams earned 30 assists, and Kimmy Kirk recorded eight digs.
Down two games, the Yellowjackets raced to a 9-3 lead in Game 3. Cal Baptist then put together a 9-2 run for a 12-11 lead. The match was tied once more at 15-15, but the Lancers put three straight points on the board and never trailed again.
Cal Baptist hit .286 for the match (44-16-98). Billings finished at .179 (35-18-95).
