PORTLAND, Ore. – Gabby Oddo is finding the floor better than ever – and the rest of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference is noticing.

Oddo, who had a pair of matches in the 20-kill range to help Seattle Pacific pull out a pair of five-game volleyball victories, has been named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week.

It is the first award for the sophomore outside hitter from Alta Loma, Calif., and the first for the Falcons this season.

Oddo slammed 20 kills in last Tuesday's home match against Saint Martin's, helping the falcons come back from a 2-games-to-1 to turn back the visitors from Lacey, 25-16, 24-26, 19-25, 25-17, 15-7. She added 10 digs in that match for her third double-double of the year, and hit .267.

8351Last Thursday night at Montana State Billings, Oddo had a career-high 23 kills as SPU again rallied from 2-to-1 down and beat the Yellowjackets, 18-25, 25-18, 26-28, 25-15, 15-5. She tied her career high of 22 with a kill on the first point of Game 5. Then, she hammered No. 23 on the second point. That helped set the tone as the Falcons never trailed and were never tied in that deciding game. Oddo hit .293 in that match.

Oddo moved past 400 career kills and now is 63 away from No. 500. She also is approaching her 500th career point, now at 484.5.

The Falcons are home for two matches this week, playing host to undefeated and nationally ranked Northwest Nazarene on Thursday, followed by Central Washington on Saturday. Both matches in Brougham Pavilion begin at 7:00 p.m.
