“It came down to who could execute their stuff. San Diego has some very, very good players who play exceptionally hard. This was a huge come-from-behind win for us.”
(On coming back from 53-41 down)
“We clamped down on defense and gave them fewer offensive boards. We got more stops and that gave us more opportunities to score.”
(On Brittney Taylor coming up big while playing with four fouls)
“That’s huge, and that’s a maturity thing. She recognizes that her play on the court is more important than having that basket. When we were down eight and she picked up her fourth, we had to leave her in there and make plays at both ends. Making plays and not giving up a play and not getting that last foul, that was huge.”

“I’m very excited. This has been the best win we’ve had all year of the three times we beat San Diego. Every time we beat them, it has always been a team effort.”
(On the switch in momentum after UCSD had the 12-point lead)
“Everyone has their ups and downs, but we pulled together at the end and finished real strong. We showed a lot of character in the last four minutes of the game and got to the free throw line and hit big shots.”
(On playing with four fouls)
“I can’t be as aggressive on defense. I can’t always go for the blocked shots. We kind of make some adjustments where I’m off their best back-to-the-basket post and I’m more on the help-side defense and not in the contact.”
(On playing Chico State in the semis)
“We need to come out with the same tenacity that had in the last four minutes today. They’re really quick and aggressive just as much as UC San Diego.”
