Complete SPU Homecoming events schedule
SEATTLE -- Falcons fans can purchase tickets on-line for both Seattle Pacific basketball doubleheaders this week, including Satruday's annual Homecoming games. The SPU men and women host Alaska Anchorage on Thursday (Jan. 28) and Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday (Jan. 30) at Brougham Pavilion.
Large crowds are expected for this week's games and advanced tickets are recommended. Tickets for both doubleheaders this week can be purchased on the official SPU Athletics website at:
www.spufalcons.com
The Falcons entertain Anchorage in women's basketball on Thursday at 5:15 p.m. followed by the men's nightcap at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the women again play the opener, tipping off the Homecoming doubleheader at 1:30 p.m. against Fairbanks. The men meet UAF at 3:30 p.m. with special Homecoming festivities set for halftime.
Also on Saturday, before the basketball doubleheader, is the second-annual Falcon 5K Fun Run and Walk at Green Lake. The 3.1-mile route begins near the bathrooms and crew house at the south end, and follows the main path clockwise around the lake.
The cost to participate in the Fun Run and Walk is $15, with proceeds being split between the SPU cross country and track programs, and Hope Runs, a nonprofit organization that works with AIDS orphans in Kenya. Kids under age 12 can participate for free. All participants will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last. Prizes will be awarded after the race. More information is available by contacting SPU head cross country coach Erika Daligcon at 206-281-3432 or by visiting the
Falcon 5K website.
The two basketball doubleheaders and Falcon 5K are just a few of numerous Homecoming events set to take place this week on the Seattle Pacific University campus. For a complete schedule of this week's activities, please visit this
