    • SPU Visits Spain preview storyDAY NINE: Rooftop Tour of Madrid
August 14, 2015
Friday most of us went to downtown Madrid. There weren't many planned-out events.
Â
Most people ventured around downtown and got some shopping done. Ten of us took a rooftop tour of Madrid, which was pretty informative. Our tour guide showed us some of the iconic buildings of Madrid.
Â
One thing that really stuck out to me was the idea of preservation. Madrid has hundreds of years of history, and many of the local buildings are from before the 19th and 20th centuries.
Â
Madrid has made it a point to keep these buildings in their original condition to keep their historic ambiance. Due to this, one of the buildings had an H & M symbol on it, but when you walk in, it has the typical setup of an early 1930's movie theater.
Â
During the evening we had a game against the U-19 Las Rozas team. The final score was 3-1 in our favor. We played well and got some great goals from
Keenan dePinna,
Ian Adams and
Mori Tsuchiya.
Â
I believe that our team is starting to really find its stride. Every player on the team is slowly starting to find their role in regards to contributing to the common goal.
Â
Thanks for reading my blog about the trip. I will post a final, wrap-up entry tomorrow,
Â
